Delete your AidFone account

You can delete your AidFone account at any time from your caregiver dashboard. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to the information we hold.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in to your AidFone caregiver dashboard.
  2. Go to My Account, then Delete my account.
  3. Type the senior’s name to confirm. Deletion starts right away.

What is deleted

  • The settings sent to the phone, including the caregiver PIN
  • All contacts and emergency contacts
  • Medication reminders, health assessments and pre-screening answers
  • The last known location, call-activity counts and voicemail flags
  • Your caregiver profile, name, email and phone number

Everything on the phone and all health, location and contact information is deleted immediately. Your account itself is removed 7 days later, so an accidental deletion can still be undone by writing to [email protected].

What we keep, and why

  • Consent records. Quebec law requires a permanent, tamper-evident record of who consented to what. These records do not contain the senior’s name after deletion.
  • Past invoices. Our payment provider keeps them as financial records; we cannot delete them.
  • Phone numbers that replied STOP to our messages, so that we never text them again. Deleting this would undo someone’s request to be left alone.

Billing and refunds

There is no refund. Your subscription is cancelled when you delete, and the phone keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that date the account is gone.

The senior’s phone

The phone stops receiving updates immediately and unpairs itself the next time it has a connection. Until then it keeps showing the last screen it downloaded. Please factory reset the phone once you are done with it — and if it is going to another person, you must factory reset it.
